I live in sneakers, and now that they are socially accepted in most types of outfit combinations I thought I would share my favourite sneakers and how I wear them or style them based on my activity. I will also be discussing if they fit true to size, what size I ordered ect! I am an 8.5 women’s normally.
First up are my favourite CASUAL sneaks.
Platform Converse – these are probably my most worn shoe. Because they are black, I find myself reaching for them for any season. Worn with denim and a tee for a casual look or pair them with a skirt or dress for an edgier look. Converse fits true to size I ordered an 8.5 and they fit perfectly.
If you are into a bit of colour for spring and summer, you can find converse in some pastel shades like these blue ones that I think I’m going to be picking up for spring/summer this season.
I also really love these platform leopard ones as well!
Platform Vans – Super easy to wear shoe. Again versatile for all season wear. These vans have a platform on them which I think instantly elevates the shoe. My favourite way to style these is with a good pair of denim, white top and a leather jacket. These vans fit true to size, I ordered an 8.5.
Nike AF1– classic white sneaker, super versatile, you can wear them with any colour, and they are comfortable walking around in. I wouldn’t pair these with dresses, but you could pair them with a skirt and a tee. I actually ordered the Youth sizing in these as they are so much cheaper! I take a youth size 7.
Superga – these are also a super classic white shoe. I find these pair I tend to wear with more dresses and skirts as they have a bit of a platform, sleek design and the canvas material makes them look more chic than the Nike AF1’s. I sized up .5 in these as they are a bit narrow if you have a wider foot. I got a 9 in these.
Next up is my ATHLEISURE collection.
♡ Shoes in this category can be worn in a casual setting such as running errands, or going for a walk with your dog. I wouldn’t typically pair them with skirts or dresses and they aren’t quite enough support for running or high intensity training. They are an ‘in between’ shoe and all the pairs I’m about to show you are perfect for everyday activity.
Nike Zoom 2k – To say I LOVE these shoes would be an understatement. They are so comfortable and they look cute with denim, or athletic wear. Nike always fit a bit tighter, I ordered up half a size to a 9 and they fit perfectly.
Adidas Ozweego– I have wider feet, and these shoes are a dream, they give me Yeezy vibes for a fraction of the price and they come in so many colours from neutrals to bright neon green and purple. These shoes actually fit big, I ordered half a size down after reading the reviews and they fit great in a size 8.
Adidas EQT Gazelle– Love a classic black and white shoe. Most of my shoes are white or black or both. I like the daddy vibes of these ones without them being too bulky. These shoes are These shoes fit true to size, I got a size 8.5.
Last up are my PERFORMANCE shoes.
♡ These shoes are great for running or HIIT workouts.
Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 37 – For running these shoes fit like a dream. Lightweight, functional and they come in this super cute pastel colour combination! I always have to size up in Nike shoes, so I ordered a 9 in these.
Adidas Pure Boost trainer shoes – A lot of people do HIIT workouts wearing running shoes, but unfortunately most running shoes were created for running and so they have a lower sole in the front and higher sole in the back to help you move forward – which makes sense as when you run you typically run in a straight line forwards. When you are jumping, lifting weights + compound movements you need a shoe that is designed to be multidirectional. Adidas pure boost trainer shoes are my go to for training, they are so comfortable and are specifically designed for these types of workouts! These shoes fit true to size, I got an 8.5!
♡ Hope you all have some happy feet after reading this! -xo, meg
